SOME INTERESTING SIMILARITIES
It may surprise some Baptists to discover the words of Jesus in Matthew 22v39 echoed in the sacred writings and traditions of other world religions.
These similarities occur across a wide range of religious traditions, all of which are present in the UK. Any Christian alert to such facts will wish to take these seriously and careful exploration of them is essential for sensitive Christian witness and service in multi-faith Britain.
Exploring similarity does not rule out our acknowledging our differences but it does underline our shared human experience and our Christian conviction that all are made in the image of God.
